I still cannot get this to work in my game.
I can place the community lot with no problem, I can visit there and other sims appear as on a normal community lot.
But I have no option to hold a party there. It's really frustrating. I even deleted another community lot to see if that would help but it hasn't.
I think I'm going to have to just remodel an existing lot that I know can be a wedding venue.
I've tried searching the new BBS but it doesn't come up with anything helpful.
Anyone else having any luck with a custom party venue?

I haven't tried it either, Twoyys. In fact, I still haven't figured out how to place a community lot in either neighborhood. I don't have any available squares on which to place them, unlike the residential lots that have plenty of options. Let us know when you figure it out.
Oh, and by the way, I hate throwing parties. So my Sims have private ceremonies.

I think if you edit town, then click on the lot, you have the option to change it from a residential to a community lot, or community to residential. Did you try clicking on your cell phone, and choosing the have party at...... option?

I have seen the community lot option, after I have placed a home it has given me the option to choose the type of lot.
Also if you are in edit town you can click on a lot and the pop up has the choice to change lot type ( it has the picture of half a home half a house)

Thanks for your input everyone but still no luck. It's definitely a community lot in my game. Nik, there is one empty lot for a community lot in Sunset Valley- it's almost next to where the McIrish family live (I think their home is called the single mom's home). In Riverview I had to bulldoze a com lot to place mine, but just like in Sunset, I don't get the option to throw a party at that venue.
So I could place my lot there with no problem. But Joe, when I call to throw a party at.... I only get a few choices and my pavilion isn't one of them. Oh well, I think I'll have to just revamp the beach lot a bit more... I do throw most of my parties there anyway. It's just annoying that it's limited. lol.
Thanks anyway you guys! Twoyys

Twoyys,
Is your pavilion by any chance missing something necessary to throw a party? What all is needed? A DJ booth? A bar? A food table? Not sure what is needed, but maybe the option doesn't come up because the lot is missing something it needs. Just a thought.
Thanks for the information about community lots. I haven't done much with them. I think I'll bulldoze one of the parks in order to make room for custom community lots.
Best Regards, Nik
