I was trying my hand at building, when I came across a problem. Building is something rather new to me, and it annoys me that I can't do this. I was redoing the Art deco house that came with the sp, and trying to see if it can be made to look like the one on the back of the box, but I'm having trouble making the tall roof of the house, and was wondering if it's even possible to do. I used boolprop constrainfloorelevation false, to lower the wall i placed on the 2nd floor, then a full wall on top of it, butit appears that I cannot repeat this process a second time. Is it even possible to do? Also, if I can only go the 2 levels, how do i make the helier pieces connect, it seems they break up when it comes to the corners giving me a broken pattern?
Is it even possible to make this house as shown?
Anyways, help would be most appreciated, and thanks in advance. Joe

Joe,
I pulled my case for the M&G Stuff Pack out of the closet and looked at the back cover. I assume you're talking about the yellow and red home pictured in the lower-right corner. I studied the teeny, tiny photo and have concluded a few things:
1. The roof color is beige brown as evidenced by the top of the central tower. It appears to utilize about a 25 degree slope or thereabouts.
2. What we see in red are walls and half walls. I think they are only a facade on the rooftop. You don't need to use the "boolprop constrainfloorelevation false" cheat to use them.
3. They are using the two-story door that came with M7G, so the front portion shown in yellow is a full two-stories tall. I think the red we see above it is a half wall except for near the tower where we have full walls.
4. Looks like they added one tile of full walls on each side of the tower and painted them red.
Anyway, these are just my guesses. The photo is really small and my eyesight isn't all that good any more. But that's what I think they did to build this house. Good luck!
Best Regards, Nik

Joe To place windows and doors on the diagonal just make sure move objects is set to off or it will not work for you.
As for pictures at the forum you just need to upload them to a photo account such as photobucket.com and use the forum link they provide for you. It is really very easy

I'm not sure what happened to the last picture, but it took me 5 minutes to download photobucket, a few minutes to upload the pictures, and over an hour to figure out how to post them. I really should name this the Crazy Art Deco house. These images are just my first attempt at building something. Joe (hope it's not too many)

Oh, how fun! Thank you for sharing your art deco house with us, Joe. I have never had much of a talent for building or in designing Sims abodes, so I can understand your frustration. I think that's why I admire so much what Nik, Val and the others here can do. I don't think I have it in me to be a master builder!

Great job Joe. Depends on how big the house is some rooves just won't work. Rooves drive me crazy. I find if I make house smaller roofing seems to work better. I haven't learnt enough about roofing to be able to help much. I'm not sure I understand the angle-changing cheats either. It looks great regardless, Joe regards, Jen

I changed the house some, but i think it's rather large, will post pics soon. Also hate interior decorating, but will do my best, when my carpal tunnel clears up. Happy Valentines Day all! Joe
Oh, what version of sims3 did most of you order, i haven't made my mind up yet, but can't see the point to the collector's edition.

Oh, what version of sims3 did most of you order, i haven't made my mind up yet, but can't see the point to the collector's edition. Joe, I initially pre-ordered the regular version and I also pre-ordered the Prima Guide, too. Recently, I received a notice from Amazon that I the ship date had changed and that I needed to re-confirm my order. Since the Prima Guide was still showing as shipping in February, I kept it as is. Later, I found out the Prima Guide was also gonna be delayed. I ended up canceling both orders and then I shopped around. I ended up pre-ordering the Collector's Edition from Amazon. It' about a wash since they include the Prima Guide and a few other things in the deal. So we'll see if it was worth it in June. Best Regards, Nik
